“I wanted to join the Business Academy because it meant I wasn’t just learning the theory I was actually putting it into practice! It also means that I have a business mentor; sharing experiences with someone else has helped me consider the possibilities that may be open to me in the future. In the summer I completed an internship placement, which has been a valuable and unforgettable experience. My colleagues were extremely welcoming and supportive and I was allowed to flourish in my role knowing that my colleagues were always there for me to fall back on. I’ve been exposed to all different types of work during my internship and it has been most productive and thoroughly enjoyable. Being part of the Business Academy also meant that I went on a residential trip to London which was a fantastic opportunity to gain experience of real working and a better understanding of the world of business. I have enjoyed the support you get in the Academies but also I have enjoyed the independence too. Cirencester College is helping me to prepare for the future whether it is university or going straight into a career. In the future I hope to be part of a successful business!”
