This summer 22 Teacher Training students have successfully graduated from the Professional (Graduate) Diploma in Education (PGDE) and were able to attend the University of Bolton graduation ceremony to celebrate their achievements.
Carol Hunt was one of the students who made the journey to the University. “I studied the two-year PGDE qualification at Cirencester College linked to the University of Bolton. Although I had enjoyed training staff within the work place I wasn’t sure if I would enjoy teaching in Further Education, but as I am very passionate about the Beauty Therapy industry I wanted to pass on my knowledge and enthusiasm to learners.
During the two-year course I built up my teaching hours guided by my tutors and I not only grew in confidence as a teacher but also found the job very rewarding. The course can be demanding at times, especially when working full-time, but it can be achieved with a lot of hard work and support. Since qualifying this year I have been offered part-time teaching hours at a local college. This works well with my business as I still want to remain hands-on in my industry. Also, using the knowledge I gained during the course, I have recently applied to an awarding body for accreditation of my own courses.
I can highly recommend Cirencester College as the support and mentoring I received were excellent; the course has literally changed the path of my working life”
