Cirencester College has offered free meals subsidised by the college for a number of years and are pleased that this new government initiative will enable us to provide this service to more students.

Research Project Help
Beginning a large project can be a daunting task and searching for the best and most reliable resources can sometimes feel like trying to find a needle in a haystack. The Library and Learning Centre at Cirencester College will help to find the right resources for all students undertaking research projects. We can help search our online Catalogue, our Virtual Library and the wider web for the best resources for all projects.
Students can find help in the following ways:

A study by the University of Exeter in 2011 found that “Those obtaining higher degree results statistically used library resources more than those obtaining lower grades, proving that a relationship exists between library use and student attainment” http://as.exeter.ac.uk/library/news/enhancingcorelibrarycollections/
So we encourage all students to come and use our expert help and amazing resources.
Careers and Higher Education Support and Guidance
Cirencester College offers a comprehensive programme of Careers and Higher Education support and guidance to help your son or daughter decide what to do when they have finished studying with us.
Staff are always on hand to help students. Personal tutors and subject lecturers are the first stop for advice and guidance, but more specialist help is also available. Our qualified and experienced careers adviser, Julia Forster, offers individual careers appointments. These are bookable by students on the Student Intranet (CCO), under the Careers and Higher Education tab. Parents are most welcome to attend.
Julia provides impartial advice, guidance and information on a range of topics, including career choices, Higher Education, job search and employability skills, apprenticeships, gap year plans, CV writing and work experience. Appointments continue during the summer break, so if your son or daughter is undecided about their future plans, they can still obtain help.
The careers library is based off the main library and contains a wealth of information about careers, courses, employment and training. Software packages are also available to help students make informed decisions. The Student Intranet also contains careers information, news updates and links to useful websites. Job, gap year, apprenticeship and training opportunities are regularly posted on there, along with details of talks and careers-related events organised at the college or elsewhere.

Response to Parental Survey 2014
A big thank you to parents who completed our on-line questionnaire last term. This was the largest response we have had from parents and the most positive. It is really important to us to get feedback on what you think we are doing well and where you would like us to improve. We do use it. The comments on individual courses are particularly helpful and have been fed back to staff.
