Media Content Creation
The media industry is changing rapidly with advances in technology and online platforms allowing the distribution of content to become instant and global. You will learn about how the media operates and get a practical and theoretic introduction to the knowledge, skills and understanding of the digital media industry. You will develop an understanding of how to use graphics, video and sound to create products for specific target audiences including basic web creation. You will also develop knowledge and understanding of media pre-production, planning and production processes. You will develop transferable skills such as planning, communication, adaptability and leadership. Put your current creative and technical impulses to use and develop a platform of new skills across a range of media arts practices within our extensive production facilities and with our highly experienced, industry-focused teaching team.

Creative Media Technician
If it is the technical side of media production which mainly interests you then this is the right course. This course will equip you with the skills and understanding of sound and moving images to enable you to record, edit, store and archive mainly digital media. As with the other creative media options, the course will also explore the industry and develop your understanding of audience, language and the team and entrepreneurial skills that are valued in this fast-moving industry.

Media Event Technician
Whether it is festivals, concerts or theatre productions this course is designed to give you all the skills to become a successful events and venues technician. There is a strong focus on technical skills to enable you to rig events but also includes design, planning and the organisational skills to set up, run and then take down efficiently. You will be introduced to ways of managing the whole sequence from initial ideas through pre-planning to rehearsals and final performance and the tools and knowledge required to coordinate teams and organise logistics. The course will blend practical and theoretical and the major element will be a placement where you will be able to put your developing skills and knowledge into practice. If you are a performer, there will be space in the programme for this too.
