Community

Responsibility

We believe that personal responsibility for teaching, learning and progression should be taken within a framework of shared accountability for performance management at all levels.

Sustainability

We care about investing in our future by promoting an environmentally aware, sustainable, safe and healthy learning and working environment.

Goal 1

To enhance our national, regional and local reputation for outstanding teaching, learning and assessment by enabling learners of all abilities to achieve their full potential.

To achieve, we will:

1 Attain headline cross college exam rates which will be above Sixth Form College benchmarks for all KPI’s achievement, success rates and high grades.

2 Ensure that cross College value added scores for each type of course are ALPs grade 4 (very good) or above.

3 Get 80% of all annual formal classroom observation grades to grade 2 or above.

4 Seek to ensure that student and parental feedback on all teaching and learning cross college surveys is routinely and overwhelmingly graded good or better.

5 Demonstrate that successful student progression, internally and post course, can be readily evidenced using up to date and accurate destination data analysis.

6 Make sure that all curriculum and service departments rigorously self assess and will act quickly to remove any aspect of inadequate provision.

Goal 2

To ensure our long-term financial viability whilst maximising our resources and our opportunities for revenue growth.

To achieve, we will:

1 Produce an operating surplus of at least 3%.

2 Operate to a 56 day cash in hand forecast annually.

3 Move staffing costs so no more than 65% of income in any one year.

4 Not be solely reliant on one source of income and other income streams show incremental growth—HE/full cost deliver/apprenticeships/international work etc.

5 Reduce whole college drop out to below 8%

6 Create a learning environment—with flexible teaching and learning spaces and IT facilities which maximise opportunities to increase income streams but without detracting from core provision.

Goal 3

To provide an innovative and progressive Sixth Form College curriculum, responding to the needs and aspirations of our stakeholders.

To achieve, we will:

1 Produce a  full annual audit of our curriculum provision, internally and externally to identify any gaps in provision.  If gaps are found or current provision is no longer needed rectify via a thorough viability testing transparent curriculum modelling document.

2 Grow provision/student numbers in areas of excellence and/or niche delivery (eg STEM/Academy/Sport).

3 Prove the impact of the College experience, teaching and pastoral support on student outcomes and progression analysis.

4 Improve the quality of the out of class support to ensure the best possible preparation for employment/HE/future citizenship.

5 Seek positive reputational feedback/provision endorsement from our stakeholders locally and from partners in the wider communities.

Goal 4

To promote a culture of aspiration, high performance and advocacy in personal and professional development, conduct and respect for our community.

To achieve, we will:

1 Recruit and retain high quality and well qualified staff who are motivated to succeed.

2 Listen to our stakeholders and invole them in the driving forward of the College agenda, thus fostering a greater sense of ownership and accountability.

3 Ensure that the College environment is characterised by inclusivity, participation and mutual trust and this is regularly demonstrated in cross college surveys.

4 Make sure that at least 1% of total income is spent on professional staff development relevant to personal and professional individual needs.

5 Ensure that effective learner involvement strategy is enacted.

6 Embed effective performance management and succession planning throughout the organisation.

7 That we are assiduous in treating all stakeholders in an equal, fair and ethical manner.
