100 Years of Children’s Literature

A friendly and informal course to explore children’s books from the past and new writers of the present. The course will seek to give an overview of how children’s books have changed and developed over the past 100 years. There will be lots of discussion (with no right or wrong answers!) as well as plenty of opportunity to browse through old favourites and discover new ones.

Rachel is an ex-teacher with a passion for Children’s books. She reviews new books for different organizations including the national children’s reading for pleasure charity “Read for Good” where she is also a trustee. Currently, Rachel is doing some work for the Cheltenham festival “Reading Teachers Reading Pupils project, which involves selecting some of the best new titles for schools to use. Rachel holds a M.A. in Literature for Children and Young Adults
