German for Beginners

How will I learn?

As communication is the main objective of this course, students work in pairs or groups to practise speaking and listening. Recorded material, such as CDs and authentic listening texts/videos will also be regularly used to improve listening skills. Understanding written French will be based on everyday items such as notices, leaflets and signs. French will be the medium of instruction as far as possible.  There is no formal testing, but homework will be given each week.

What do I need to bring?

Notepad/paper and a pen.

You are of course welcome to bring bottled water or filled travel mugs with you should you wish.

Any additional costs

This class may use a textbook which you would need to buy separately.

More details of this to come

What else do I need to know?

No prior knowledge of the language is assumed. This course is suitable for students who have never studied German before or who studied the language years ago and want to go back to the basics.
