African Bowl Weaving

Learn the beautiful art of African bowl hand weaving. You’ll make a bowl/wall decoration out of jute and decorate it with wool or fabric. The final piece is visually impressive and can be used as a display piece or a practical item. The process of weaving is great for absorbing yourself into a project and forgetting about everyday stress.

Katie has taught Arts and Crafts for many years, with the emphasis on freedom of experimentation in an encouraging, non-judgmental and friendly environment. Originally a painter and photographer Katie has opened up her knowledge to an abundance of creative activities that she thrives on teaching to others.

Through observation and doing the craft themselves.

What do I need to bring?

You don’t need to bring anything. All resources are provided, however as you can see, we use off black wool to make the pattern on the example piece, please bring along any wool if you have something particular in mind that you would like to use. But there will be a selection available if you are happy to use any colour.
