Basic Equestrian First Aid Awareness Course

There are obvious risks associated with riding. Within this  3 hour non accredited Basic Equestrian First Aid Awareness Course delivered by Cotswold First Aid, participants will cover common injuries which could be sustained and understand how to treat whilst waiting for the emergency services. Often riders can be riding in isolated areas and these learnt skills will be valuable in assisting in an emergency.

This is a funded course, so free to participants that:

  • Have lived in the UK or EU for at least 3 years
  • Are aged 19 and over
  • Are earning less than £18,525

Those who do not meet the criteria for a funded place can access the course for £10.

What topics are covered?

The course will cover the following:

  • Fractures
  • Spinal and head injuries
  • Basic wound care
  • Resuscitation.

How will I learn?

This will be a hands on practical course with participants learning through tutor led demonstrations, followed by having a go themselves.

What do I need to bring?

Note pad and pen, additionally it is advised participants wear comfortable non restrictive clothing.
