Award in Education & Training
The Award course is an introductory course, which offers learners an insight into many aspects of teaching in the FE / post compulsory / adult education / training sector such as assessment, legislation and inclusive practice. This course aims to develop knowledge and skills related to teaching and learning in a range of contexts in order to achieve a nationally recognised level 3 qualification.
The course is also invaluable for trainers in the voluntary sector, training personnel in commerce, industry, the public sector, the NHS and HM Forces along with technicians and support staff in further and adult education. No teaching practice is required for successful completion of the qualification.
What does the course involve?
This course directly replaces the Preparing to Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) qualification and achieving this qualification will provide sufficient evidence that the learner has obtained the necessary skills and knowledge to prepare, plan, deliver and evaluate basic teaching and learning sessions in a variety of teaching or training contexts.
Year by year
The Award course includes 3 units and for each unit there is an associated assignment.
- Understanding Roles, Responsibilities and Relationships in Education and Training
- Understanding and Using Inclusive Teaching and Learning Approaches in Education and Training
- Understanding Assessment in Education and Training
