Land and Wildlife (Countryside Conservation)

This is ideal if you are interested in working outdoors in the wildlife or countryside sectors and want to gain the skills required for employment. This could mean in parks, nature reserves, farms, gardening or any other of the huge range of local industries. We love to get out into the countryside to teach our lessons, so if you like a mixture of classroom and outdoor learning, this could be the course for you! This one-year Level 2 Technical Certificate also allows for progression on to our Level 3 Land & Wildlife Extended Diploma.

What will I study?


This course uses a combination of practical activities and classroom assessment to give you the opportunity to take your first steps towards a career in the countryside, wildlife and conservation industry.

You can continue to study your Maths and English GCSEs alongside this course at Cirencester College.

Course content

The new course specification allows students to develop a range of vocational skills within the industry including survey, practical and machinery used in the conservation sector. The students work both on and offsite and we organise projects together with Countryside organisations based in the local area. If you like the outdoors and want to learn more about wildlife and the rural landscape this course is for you.
