You’ll study in key industry-relevant areas. You’ll learn sector critical knowledge and practice while exploring the different job roles you may want to progress into. Much of the learning will be looking at real life scenarios which will mean you’ll be doing teamwork, research, and working directly with professionals. This part of the course will also prepare you for applying for jobs and getting ready for the professional workplace. You’ll learn how to undertake research and investigations and also have a great opportunity to experience real world work placements in a professional setting. You’ll work with employers to help develop your understanding of the sector and the jobs available within it. The substantial placement allows you to immerse yourself in the professional world and see your classroom work in practice, and also gives you the experience to bring back to college to help your deeper understanding. We’ll prepare you for work, but you’ll also reflect on your experience so you really develop.
A typical week could see you learning about how a laboratory works and perhaps testing protein samples, having a lecture on the use of radiotherapy in Hospitals, working in a team to design a rehabilitation programme and investigating a case study on the impact of dieting drugs.
