Media (Production) Level 3 Vocational

This Media Production course provides an exciting approach to Digital TV, Film and Print production combining academic study, practical skills and understanding professional practice. Although the course is largely practical, developing skills such as team-building, communication and presentation, there are substantial written elements that have to be covered in each unit. This course is the equivalent of 3 A-levels and will allow you to progress onto a HE course, gain employment in a range of media related careers, or move onto a Media Apprenticeship. It is internally assessed through coursework with no external assessment.

What will I study?

This Media Production course combines academic study, practical skills and understanding professional practice. You will study a wide range of media areas including digital TV, Film and Print production. Although the course is largely practical, developing skills such as team-building, communication and presentation, there are substantial written elements that have to be covered in each unit . In this course you will develop ideas for media products ranging from film marketing campaigns to channel Ident animations; scriptwriting to planning a music festival; graphic design to music video production. You will use a variety of digital print programs such as Photoshop and In-Design as well as developing your creativity as both a cinematographer and as a sound and video editor, creating video and sound efects for a variety of products. You will also study the media industry; exporing the production roles open to you and gaining insight into how to get a career in the media.

This is a full time course, you will have 13.5 hours of lessons per week. To achieve this qualification you will need to complete 18 units over 2 years

This qualification is internally assessed by centre assessors and quality assurance personnel and externally moderated by OCR Visiting Moderators.
