Cirencester College is proud to introduce the Law Society for the first time ever! The aim of this project is to reward the hardest working and most enthusiastic students with the opportunity to complete work experience in the local community with prestigious law firms to support their university or job application in the future. Students will complete a portfolio of learning objects, evidencing their learning and development throughout the experience.

Did you know?
In 2014, over 21,000 students were accepted to read law at university all looking to achieve a career in law (The Law Society (2016). Getting work experience at a law firm is essential as it demonstrates commitment, to the career path whilst giving students the opportunity to gain a greater awareness of the day-to-day workings of a solicitor and the legal industry as a whole.
What does the Law Society Offer?
The Law Society will enable students to build on their skills such as interpersonal skills, teamwork, organisation and time management. Students will be part of a dedicated team who receive:
- Special career and employability guidance;
- Face to face mentoring to help students develop their career aspirations and to give advice and guidance;
- CV, job application and interview preparation;
- The opportunity complete a Work Based Portfolio to evidence learning and development employability skills.
