You will also study English and Maths qualifications as integrated elements of your study programme.

Plus an Extended Project Qualification EPQ (Level 2) which allows each student to embark on a largely self-directed and self-motivated project. You will choose a topic, plan, research and develop your idea and decide on your finished product.

In addition, you will get all the support you need including a personal tutor, learning support if required, careers guidance and skills for work training.  Plus you will have access to the full range of enrichment activities at the College.

Choosing the correct course

To ensure you are completely happy with the course that you have chosen you will be given the chance to try up to 3 different vocational courses in the first week of term.  Work will also commence on developing your employability skills; including career planning, working on your CV and interview techniques which will be key to helping you achieve your career goals.

National Citizen Service (NCS)

As a level 2 student you will be joining the NCS programme (in week 2 and 3) which is an excellent way to get to know other students on your course and gain some key team building skills.  The programme itself will involve:

  • a 4-day residential at the PGL Osmington Bay Centre followed by
  • a Social Action Project, based at college, where you work with other students to create and deliver a campaign in Cirencester to support the local community and local charities.

In Week 4 students will commence their chosen Level 2 study programme.

Progression

Successful completion of your Level 2 programme can lead directly onto a level 3 programme or an apprenticeship, subject to satisfying the minimum entry requirements of your chosen programme.  Some students will progress straight into a career after completing their level 2 programme.
