Cirencester College Performing Arts students present “Like, Subscribe, Follow” a thought-provoking play addressing issues around body image and self-esteem. With separate devised performances tailored for Secondary and Primary schools, we hope to promote body confidence in children and teens. Research shows the majority of insecurities come from social media and online initially, contributing to unrealistic beauty standards, unhealthy comparisons and lowering self-esteem.
We want to challenge children and teenagers’ way of thinking, questioning WHY they may feel insecure or not happy in their bodies highlighting, how social media pressures, advertising and corporate companies take advantage of this, with the aim to prevent this way of thinking for the long term.
Cirencester College are working with Cotswold Integrated Locality Partnership and Gloucestershire Integrated Care Board.
