This is an extremely exciting opportunity for a modern, forward thinking, professional from the Construction sector to join our thriving College and be at the forefront of the new T Level qualifications.  The College is continuing to implement new T level qualifications as they become available, and this is an unique opportunity for the right candidate to work with us in developing our curriculum.

We are looking for a lecturer to join the STEAM faculty to join our growing team of Construction lecturers.  The most popular T level we offer is in Design, Surveying and Planning, however we are also interested to speak with potential candidates with experience in civil engineering or building services design.  We have just opened our brand-new T level building, and we continue to transform our environment with state-of-the-art developments.  Students of the Construction T level enjoy their study in accommodation both in the new T level building and in the equally stylish ‘Digital’ Building.

This post would be suitable for an experienced teacher, or someone looking to move into a career in teaching from prior work in the Construction or Engineering industries.

The successful applicant will have an opportunity to develop their passion for education within a supportive and quickly developing area, playing a pivotal role in the continued development and delivery of the innovative T levels.

The post holder will be expected to:

  • Teach to a high standard, and develop the relevant skills to teach truly outstanding provision
  • Work with the STEAM Faculty and with enrichment staff to create provision that excites and stimulates demand

Candidates should have a commitment to providing high quality learning to enable all learners to achieve their full potential.  The ability to truly work as a team player is also essential.  The post holder will be expected to demonstrate outstanding organisational and interpersonal skills.

Candidates should possess either proven experience in industry or a good honours degree in a related subject (or a combination of both). Ideally you will hold a teaching qualification, or be committed to obtain a suitable qualification once in post.

Taking Teaching Further is eligible for those with relevant knowledge and industry experience to retain as FE teachers. If you are eligible, whilst funds last, you will be able to access a £6,000 incentive payment: £3000 at the end of year one of the programme and £3000 at the end of year two. The college will cover the cost of undertaking a Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training in addition to intensive support, as well as a reduced timetable over 2 years.
