Yoga for Everyone

Never done yoga before but would love to give it a try in a supportive and welcoming environment? Or maybe you would like to revisit the basics and prefer a gentle class? Whatever your age, gender or fitness level this class is geared towards releasing tensions from mind and body as you build strength and harmony on all levels of your being. The session will include movement, postures, breath awareness and an introduction to relaxation and meditation. We will learn to adapt postures to suit individual need, move the spine in all directions and explore fundamental yoga poses with self-awareness and self-compassion. If you wish to go deeper into relaxation and meditation then you are welcome to stay on for “Pure Relaxation Yoga” which runs straight afterwards.

What topics are covered?

The class will include;

Warm-up limbers

Gentle movements

Fundamental yoga postures and breath awareness practice.

 

Weaved into this will be some reference to alignment, a little anatomical awareness, developing a mindful approach and a brief introduction to relaxation, meditation and yogic philosophy.

How will I learn?

Formal instruction, practical demonstration, peer work and experiential discovery.

What do I need to bring?

Everything is included in the price. Mats are provided but you may wish to bring your own.

A flat cushion and a light blanket are useful.

 

What else do I need to know?

Avoid a heavy meal before yoga class.

Wear loose, comfortable layers.
