Support For Parents

There is lots of support available for parents including Parent Zone, Information Evenings, Parents’ Evenings, the Student Journey Team, updates, bulletins and our Parent Link Magazine.  We hope that you will find these useful, an easy way to engage with the College and most importantly that you feel supported whilst your young person is at the College.

  • New parents evening

  • Parent Zone

You will get a login to the Parent Zone web portal once your young person has enrolled at the college. Parent Zone will also give you information about what is happening at the college and the support available for you and your young person at any time. Through this portal you can book your parents evening slots, book to attend information events, communicate with teachers and tutors, or access WisePay to pay for trips etc.

  • Parents Evenings

You can contact teachers and tutors at anytime through the Parent Zone or email direct. You will have the opportunity to talk to relevant teachers each term to find out how your young person is doing, what they need to work on and to share any concerns you may have.

  • Parents Higher Education Information Evening

You will have the opportunity to attend an information evening during the spring term of your young persons first year of their level 3 programme. This evening is designed to help you to understand the process of applying to university and how to support your young person to make the best choices for them. It will also help you to understand the current situation in relation to student finance and give you chance to ask questions.

  • Parents Apprenticeship Information Evening

You will have the opportunity to attend this information evening during the spring term. It will help you understand how apprenticeships work, where to look for vacancies and how to apply for an apprenticeship.

  • Higher Education and Careers Contention

In March, all students and parents are invited to our HE and Careers Convention with over 70 nationwide exhibits including Russell Group Universities and high profile employers both local and national.

  • Updates and Bulletins

Regular communication with parents is essential for a good working relationship between the College and parents.  Keeping parents up to date with what is happening at the College, operational changes or new developments.  It is important that parents keep an eye on their emails for the duration that their young people are with us to keep themselves up to date.
