Entry Requirements

At least 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above including 3 from the core subjects

How will I be assessed?

There are no exams for this qualification therefore you will complete a range of units that will all contribute to your overall grade. This however means you will always have at least three assignments on the go at one time, therefore you need to be prepared to spend several hours a week working on assignments outside of the classroom.

Any trips?

Trips are a valuable and exciting part of the course and we encourage students to participate in them. In the past we have had residential visits to destinations such as: Seville, Tallinn, Budapest, Rome, Barcelona and Malta. 

UK visits are also used to support units such as UK visitor attractions, customer service, the cruise industry and specialist tourism.

Are there any costs involved?

Residential trips are optional and on average cost between £500-£700

UK trips have direct links to assessments and attendance to these are highly encouraged, typically costing £40-£75.

FAQs

Is this a good course if you would like to work overseas?
Yes. We look at career opportunities all over the world. In year 2 we study the roles of cabin crew and resort representatives.


Would I be able to go to university on completion of this course?
Yes; All the qualifications offer UCAS points.


Do you do any practical assessments?
Yes, there is a wide variety of practical assessments on this course! Firstly, you will get the opportunity to plan and deliver an event, demonstrate cabin crew skills, deliver a guided tour, deliver customer service in different situations, participate in an interview just to mention a few. In year 2 you will complete 30 hours of Work Experience in a travel and tourism organisation.
