What will I study in Health Level 2 Award?

The health and social care level 2 programme will include all of the foundational knowledge that you need of what makes good healthcare practice and what makes for healthy living and good wellbeing. This will include a unit on the development of people throughout their lifespan from birth to old age, units on nutrition, and units on how best to communicate to service users and clients in the sector. The focus will be on applying your knowledge to real world scenarios to help prepare you for the world of work. There will also be a technical element designed to help you get more practical technical skills, both to help you in the workplace later on and also to help prepare you for level 3 or T-level progression.

Entry Requirements

At least 3 GCSEs at grade 3 or above

How will I learn?

Your level 2 learning will have a lot of independent learning, in order to help you develop your course work and assignments. This will involve a lot of research and work in teams, working alongside your teacher to produce the best quality work and results possible.

How will I be assessed?

Your units will mostly consist of vocational assignments, which are long written pieces of coursework based on the application of knowledge to case studies.

Are there any costs involved?

You should expect some small costs for stationery or course booklets.
