New buses outside college entrance

How do I get to Cirencester College?

Our students come to us from Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Swindon, Oxfordshire and South Gloucestershire. Where possible we prefer you to walk, cycle or come by train or bus rather than by car. These are both safer and more environmentally friendly.

Cirencester College is served by an extensive bus network connecting students from Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Swindon, Oxfordshire, and South Gloucestershire directly to the College.

The College recognise that the high cost of transport could potentially be a barrier to students, so this is an area where the College makes a significant contribution by subsidising the cost of the ‘Go South Coast’ annual passes. Through our partnership with Go South Coast, students can use their passes on services operated by Swindon’s Bus Company and Pulhams Coaches throughout the duration of their ticket’s validity, including evenings and weekends.

There will be a C77 route added to the portal soon, this will run Burford/Carterton/Lechlade/Fairford/Poulton/Cirencester (as did the previous service) with the aim of getting students to college around 8.40am and leaving around 4.10pm.

Find your nearest bus stop.

By entering your postcode below we will return the nearest bus stop within a selected distance of your choice. If no results return we suggest you access the Go-Ahead Group website which is listed above to locate your nearest bus/stop.

The distance defaults to 5 miles to ensure a wider search radius is used for locating your nearest stop. You can lower the distance via the dropdown above if needed. The selected distance is based of the direct distance between two points. (As the Crow Flies)
The results returned will be based of the distance by travelling on foot.

Some areas are served by Stagecoach public buses, including routes 77, 51, 51X, and 882. Tickets for these services must be purchased from Stagecoach’s website or directly on the bus. Students receiving bursary support who use these routes should speak to the College team when applying for assistance.

Students using the 77 route will arrive at Cirencester Forum at 7:50 am, giving them plenty of time to walk to the college before a 9 am lesson. Please check the full timetable via the links below.

Can I get help with the cost of the bus pass?

We subsidise bus travel for all students but there are also a Vulnerable Learning Bursary and a Discretionary Bursary where household incomes are below £45,000 per year.

Walking or cycling to College

If you live in the Cirencester area you can easily walk or cycle to College. On foot, our site is 20 minutes from the town centre and you have the option of walking through beautiful Cirencester Park. We are an easy cycle from Stratton, Siddington and Preston and we are working with local councils to try to find safer routes in from the water park. We have a separate cycle and pedestrian entrance and storage areas for cycles.

Driving to College

We would prefer students not to drive to College. Local students can walk or cycle to the site and we have a great bus network for everybody else. These alternatives are cheaper, safer, greener and in some case healthier.

However, we realise that some of you will live in places that are not yet on our bus routes and others will simply want to drive. So, we have our own on-site car park which students can access. There are limited spaces, drivers must purchase a parking permit through our online payment system – Wisepay – or from the Student Journey Cashier by Reception where we accept cash, card or cheque. Once payment has been received, we will remotely activate the parking chip in your student ID card. This takes one working day to activate. ID cards are normally collected at your enrolment appointment or on your first day at College.

Remember to first upload your profile photo on the Applicant Portal so we can print your ID card. On entering the car park hold your ID card to the black box on the barrier, whilst no action is needed to exit the car park.

Although we know that it is tempting we advise strongly against students car sharing on safety grounds and because, if you are charging your passengers, you may well invalidate your insurance.

Annual Pass

£180

Charges for 2025-26 are:

  • £30 per half term (6 a year)
  • The College may for operational reasons, not use the car-park barrier for very limited periods of time. No refunds will be made as the annual price is set for annual maintenance, is heavily discounted and reflects occasional barrier non-use.
  • Parking will be free after 6pm and for Sundial Theatre customers.
  • Adults attending part-time courses will be charged £10 per term
  • For FE and HE students (including those on teacher training courses) it is deemed that this charge has been included within their fees.
