Ceramics
Slow down and get creative in our welcoming ceramics studio. This practical, hands-on course introduces you to the beauty of working with clay, allowing you to explore a variety of traditional and contemporary ceramic techniques.
Throughout the course, learners will experiment with hand-building methods such as coiling, shaping, and surface decoration, as well as glazing processes. There is also the opportunity to try throwing techniques depending on the course level.
The atmosphere is relaxed, supportive and social – perfect for building confidence, learning new skills and expressing creativity at your own pace. Come on your own or bring a friend – everyone is welcome.
We offer both beginner and improver classes, so you can progress your skills over time.
Please note the two different classes. Tuesday’s class will be an improvers class for students who have done some ceramics before or attended our beginners classes. We will be learning new and more challenging techniques. The Monday class will be for beginners or those who want to start from the beginning.

Improvers ceramics
Fantastic course. Jo allowed us to choose our own projects and work at our own pace but was always on hand to provide expert help and advice. If we were ever looking for inspiration she always had loads of ideas and templates available.
Highly recommend this course.
A wonderful way to spend an evening!
The Ceramics course is great fun and very interesting too.
A constant learning curve. Jo is a brilliant teacher and so patient.
It has been lovely to do it with others who are all at different stages and be able to encourage each other.
Ceramics for beginners AKA Therapy!
I have absolutely enjoyed every moment of this course. Its a lovely group of ladies, lead by the wonderful Jo ! I must say the thing I enjoy most about this evening course is the support to be creative in the way you would like to learn. We can turn up with ideas of what we would like to create and Jo helps to facilitate this. It takes a while for our creations to go through the process of drying, firing, glazing and re firing but that is to be expected and its something that can’t be rushed. Its testimony to Jo that most of us are re enrolling !

Therapy for the soul
I absolutely enjoyed every moment of the course. We were taught lots of different techniques and the sessions ( 2 hours) just flew by. Looking forward to the next course and will definitely return.
