On Tuesday, 16th December, Cirencester College held their annual awards ceremony. Approximately 30 former students and local employers received awards to recognise personal outstanding achievement and contribution to the College and local community.

The awards ceremony, held in the Sundial Theatre, was attended by over 100 guests including staff, students, governors, sponsors and family and friends.

Fiona Galbraith, Chair of the Corporation, welcomed guests and congratulated the winners on their successes, and thanked them for their contribution to the College, before introducing College Principal Matt Reynolds.

Matt delivered a moving speech in which he attributed the winners’ successes to the hard work, resilience, and drive they demonstrated during their time at College, and thanked them for this. He encouraged the award winners to find their path in life by being inventive, creative, and adaptable. Matt closed his speech with one final piece of advice for the winners “Always remember you are valuable, you are powerful, you matter. Embrace what is good in the world and positive change. Don’t wait for the world to happen to you; go and be brilliant in it.”

Year 2 A-level student Takiyah gave a powerful reading of “The Road Not Taken” by Robert Frost, and Year 1 A-level Drama and Theatre students Hetty and Sophie accompanied the ceremony with a performance of “Valerie” by the Zutons.
