Health T-level: Adult Nursing

At least five GCSEs at Grade 4 or above all from the core subjects. Grade 4 in Maths and English. A grade 4 in Science is recommended.

This course requires a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, we will be asking students to bring the necessary details to their enrolment appointment to complete this.

You may be required to have additional vaccinations to work in the hopsitals.

The programme is taught through a multi-faceted approach which emulates the training which healthcare professionals receive. This includes physical demonstrations and practice in our ward, classroom, and laboratory-based learning.

You will be expected to complete weekly homework assignments throughout the programme, which will be representative of three A-level equivalents. This will include a mix of both pre-reading material and post-lesson knowledge checks. You will complete assessments at the end of each term, alternating between Core and Occupational Specialism assessments half-termly.

You will learn a variety of specific skills out on your placement, which will be outlined in your placement lessons to ensure you are prepared for the working environment. You will be required to log your work experience hours each week through our bespoke work experience portal.

The T-Level is assessed through a variety of mediums, designed to highlight both academic and practical skillsets.

Your core component is assessed through two written examinations at the end of Year 2. You will also complete a project known as the “Employer Set Project” (ESP) as a part of this component. The ESP is a controlled assessment that will be completed over a three-week period and focuses on key core principles you’ll learn.

Your occupational specialism will be assessed through a mix of written and practical assessments including discussion-based assessments. These will be reflective of real-world scenarios and requirements.

You will be off-site for a minimum of one day a week to give you opportunity to culminate industry placement hours.

Whilst on site, you will complete training whereby professionals will be invited in to demonstrate different skills and techniques related to the nursing sector.

There will be opportunities for trips to univeristies to gain an insight into the health courses they offer.

There is a course fee to cover required resources for successful completion of the T-Level Adult Nursing programme.

At the beginning of Year One, a fee of £90 is payable to include all Year One resources and a tunic for your Industry placement. This can either be paid in full or in increments from September through to October half term.

During the final term of Year Two, there is a fee of £60 payable to include all Year Two resources. Similarly, this can either be paid in full or in increments from May half term until the start of the next academic year (September).
