Whether you’re planning to enter the workforce or pursue higher education, this T-level equips you with the skills and knowledge to excel in the fast-paced marketing sector.
What will I study in Marketing T-level?
Across the core content you’ll build the foundations you need to work effectively in the sector, including:
- The Business Environment (how organisations operate and make decisions)
- Principles of Marketing (why marketing matters and how it supports organisational goals)
- Principles of Sales (customers, the sales process, funnels and pipelines, and building relationships)
- Principles of Procurement (the role of procurement and how organisations source effectively)
- Legislation and Regulation in Marketing, Sales and Procurement (e.g., data protection and compliance in marketing/sales activity)
- Sustainability in Business (including the emerging green economy and how sustainability affects strategy and operations)
- Communication in Business (communication process, channels, and communication in workplace contexts)
- Project Management (planning, delivery, and reviewing project outcomes)
- Impact of Technology on the Business Environment (digital tools and emerging technologies in sales and marketing)
- Legislation, Regulation and Ethics in the Business Environment (why business activity is regulated and the importance of ethical practice)
Occupational specialism
In the Marketing specialism, you’ll develop hands-on skills through a project-based approach, working through five key “Performance Outcomes”:
- Apply research methods to acquire and analyse information to support marketing activities
- Assess customers and stakeholders
- Develop and define propositions for marketing activities
- Deliver effective marketing communications
- Analyse and evaluate marketing delivery effectiveness
Alongside this, the wider T Level programme includes a minimum 315-hour industry placement, so you can build confidence, professionalism and real workplace experience while you study.
Entry Requirements
At least five GCSEs at Grade 4 or above all from the core subjects, including English and Maths
How will I learn?
On the T Level in Marketing, you’ll learn by doing — combining engaging classroom sessions with a minimum 315-hour industry placement, giving you real experience to talk about in interviews and on your CV. You’ll work on practical, employer-relevant projects that mirror what marketers do day to day: researching audiences, spotting opportunities, shaping ideas into clear propositions, creating effective marketing communications, and measuring what worked (and what to improve). Once foundational business knowledge is established, the occupational specialism hones in to applying specific marketing skills to projects.
Along the way you’ll build the skills employers value most: confidence in presenting and communicating, data and insight skills, creative problem-solving, project planning and teamwork, and a strong understanding of how marketing fits within a modern business — including key areas like sustainability, professional practice, and working within legislation and regulation. By the time you finish, you’ll be ready to progress into skilled employment, an apprenticeship or higher study with a qualification designed to match the needs of today’s marketing industry.
