French for Beginners

Whether you love travelling to France, have family or friends who speak French, or simply want to challenge yourself with a new skill, this engaging and practical course will help you develop the confidence to communicate in everyday situations.

By the end of the course, you will be able to communicate using simple French phrases, ask for and understand basic information, and express opinions in a variety of common travel and social situations. You will develop your speaking, listening, reading and writing skills through interactive activities and real-life scenarios.

Throughout the course, you will explore a variety of useful topics including:

  • Greetings, titles and introductions
  • Numbers
  • Talking about family and personal possessions
  • Asking for and giving directions
  • Making enquiries about places and things
  • Booking hotel accommodation
  • Ordering a snack and a drink
  • Ordering a three-course meal in a restaurant

Each week you will build your conversational skills around themes such as food, travel, restaurants, cafés and local culture, helping you develop useful language skills that you can put into practice straight away.

Have you ever wondered what life would be like without languages? What if we all spoke the same language?
