This week Year One T-level Construction students at Cirencester College were visited by Rachael Land from Buckingham Group Contracting for a career’s presentation.
Rachael gave an inspiring talk on a manner of career related topics such as CV writing and personal branding, and provided valuable advice on what to expect in interview situations. The students were given examples of common interview questions Buckingham Group ask their apprentices before getting into groups to discuss practise answers.
Rachael was joined by Will, who is currently completing an apprenticeship with the company in Quantity Surveying, and he gave the students some advice on working in the booming Construction industry, and how to find a job based on his own experience.
Construction lecturer Chris Lythgoe said “The T-level Construction students were treated to a brilliant careers presentation. Will gave the students really useful advice on working in the industry. We were surprised to hear that a Quantity Surveyor can charge up to £2500 a week for their expertise! It was really encouraging to hear that they both rate the T-level very highly as a route into a successful construction career”
