On Tuesday, 17th December, Cirencester College held their annual awards ceremony. Approximately 60 former students, including four with High Needs, and local employers received awards to recognise personal outstanding achievement and contribution to the College and the local community.

The awards ceremony, held in the Sundial Theatre, was attended by over 100 guests, including staff, students, governors, sponsors and family and friends.

Chair of the Corporation, Fiona Galbraith, welcomed guests and congratulated the winners on their successes and hard work and thanked them for their contribution to the College, before introducing College Principal Matt Reynolds.

Matt gave a moving speech in which he attributed the winners successes to the hard work, determination, and individuality they demonstrated during their time at the College. He closed his speech with a final piece of advice to the winners “You have achieved something special. Always remember you are valuable, you are powerful, you matter. Don’t wait for the world to happen to you; go and be brilliant in it”.

Performing Arts students Katie, Sophie and Maia accompanied the ceremony with a performance of ‘First Burn’ written by Lin-Manuel Miranda, and Maisie and Lily performed ‘You Love Who You Love’ written by Frank Wildhorn and Don Black from the musical Bonnie and Clyde.
