Swindon’s Bus Company and Pulhams Coaches have been chosen to provide bus services for students at Cirencester College.

The Go-Ahead Group owned operators will begin a five-year contract to serve the college from September 2025.

Altogether there are 24 separate routes – with Swindon’s Bus Company and Pulhams Coaches each operating 12 of them.

“We are thrilled to be beginning what promises to be a very successful relationship with Cirencester College,” said Swindon’s Bus Company general manager, Andrew Sherrington.

“It’s important that students benefit from reliable and comfortable transport to and from college, and this three-way partnership will provide just that. Our drivers are looking forward to transporting their new passengers over the coming years, ensuring they enjoy a top-quality service.”

Alex Chutter, area director of Pulhams, added: Performance and reliability are central to all services we operate as part of our growing network.

“We’re pleased to work in partnership with Cirencester College and our colleagues at Swindon’s Bus Company to transport pupils who are reliant on our services to-and-from their education.

“This represents another positive step forwards for Pulhams as part of our work to expand our network, develop our team, and add to our fleet and technology. This ensures all our customers experience safe and time efficient journeys.”

Karen Fraser, vice principal student experience and external relations at Cirencester College, said: “We are looking forward to working with the Go-Ahead Group to deliver our college transport services from September 2025. The partnership promises a good student experience with the potential for significant added value. The Go-Ahead Group are well positioned to support the demand from an increasing number of applicants across the region, facilitating sustainable growth for the college.”

The 24 routes cover a wide catchment encompassing large areas of Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, Wiltshire and Swindon. In excess of 2,000 students use the services each day.

Tickets will be available via the operators’ apps, and students with passes for college services will benefit from access to all of Swindon’s Bus Company and Pulhams Coaches networks throughout the period of validity of their tickets.

More details on ticketing will be published in due course and will be available from the college website – Travelling To College – Cirencester College.
