Recently, Year One A-level Textiles student and fashion enthusiast, Jamie, had one of his designs displayed in Oxfam in Cirencester for two weeks.

Jamie, who is also currently studying for A-levels in Fine Art and Psychology, created a newspaper dress as part of a GCSE project.

“The dress was inspired by punk” said Jamie, “All parts of the dress were made from recyclable materials and all of the features are going to be recycled again now that the dress has been dismantled.”

Jamie’s design also thoroughly impressed the judges of the Young Fashion Designer UK Awards, with his newspaper dress coming runner up in the Sustainability in Fashion category.

After College Jamie is planning to pursue a career in the fashion industry, and already works part time at a local tailor alongside his studies.

Congratulations Jamie on your fantastic achievement.
