This week, students across Foundation Business, A-level Business and T-level Accounting, were lucky enough to be visited by inspirational former student, George.
George studied at Cirencester College between 2019-2022, and he started his college journey by studying Level 2 Business. George progressed onto Level 3 BTEC Business, and achieved the top grade of a triple distinction star. Adding to his inspiring story, George also founded his own design business, which he ran alongside his studies.
George went on to study BA Marketing and Brand Management at the University of Greenwich, and, in July 2026, graduated with First Class Honours and received an outstanding achievement award for gaining the highest grade in his year group.
The students heard about George’s college and university experience, and the challenges and opportunities that shaped his journey. George emphasised that success is not always about finding the perfect path immediately, but about developing the confidence to embrace challenges, learn from setbacks and remain open to new opportunities.
Sam Marion, Course Leader for Foundation Business, said “We would like to thank George for taking the time to return to Cirencester College and share his experiences. His story is a powerful reminder of the potential our students have to achieve great things!”
George said “My best memories of college are making friends and building professional relationships with lecturers that I still hold on to seven years later. My advice for students today is to make friends and look after them, and take every single opportunity you get. Even if you are shy, scared, or worried about what the outcome might look like, the reality could be completely different. So face challenges with tenacity, curiosity and a daring attitude. You absolutely won’t regret it.”
We wish George the best of luck with his next steps.
